Installing IP Messenger in Ubuntu

sudo apt-get install gettext libgnomeui-dev libpanel-applet2-dev gnome-network-admin

Download g2ipmsg – http://www.ipmsg.org/archive/g2ipmsg-0.9.6.tar.gz

Extract the tar file and install,

tar xzvf g2ipmsg-0.9.6.tar.gz
cd g2ipmsg-0.9.6
sudo ./configure
sudo make
sudo make install

Run the following command to launch it
sudo /usr/bin/g2ipmsg   – The /usr/bin is the assumed path where you are installing.

    make file is not found….

    checking for XML::Parser… configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool
    root@SRMTECHSOL-14:~/Downloads/g2ipmsg-0.9.6# sudo make
    make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
    root@SRMTECHSOL-14:~/Downloads/g2ipmsg-0.9.6#
