Compare files in Ubuntu using Meld

25 Nov

Hi all, I just found a very interesting file comparator in ubuntu. I think most of you know about this already. Anyway, let it be useful for ubuntu starters. It is nothing but Meld. It just takes two files and neatly spots out the difference in content between them line by line and we can transfer the change from one file to another easily. It will be helpful when we want to compare a file with previous commit history in case of SVN and GIT and to compare a changed file with a backup taken earlier and recover.  It involves just one step.

sudo apt-get install meld

After installation

Applications --> Programming --> Meld Diff viewer
